Porky and Snapper

Joshua Therrien

As I pass downtown on a cold and cloudy fall morning I see two familiar faces.

Through my Indian eyes I can still see Porky and Snapper sitting at the corner of Marquette Park.

They are still telling stories and joking as they say hi to all they know. I can still hear the laughter of the two old friends.

They are Mackinac Island.

Forever they will always be on that corner.

Forever they will always be home on Mackinac Island.

A tribute to Robert "Porky" LaPine and Joseph  "Snapper" Bazinaw
