LaPage, Moskwas Win Big At Island Xmas Bazaar

It was perhaps the most anticipated part of Mackinac Island’s annual Christmas Bazaar weekend December 4 through December 6, and five lucky locals and two visitors went home happy and richer.

Brad Chambers of Mackinac Island won the 2003 Ski Doo Legend snowmobile, given to the bazaar by private donors. Kenneth Cross of Cheboygan won second place in the drawing, winning $500, while Judy Bynoe of Mackinac Island took home $100 for third place.

Madeline LaPage of Warren, a friend of Armand “Smi” Horn and his family, won $1,500 in the Christmas raffle that sold tickets for $25 each. Steve and Patti Ann Moskwa were second and third place winners in the raffle, winning $1,000 and $500, respectively.

Megan Kromer of Mackinac Island was the 50/50 raffle winner of $1,050.

Mayor Margaret Doud said the weekend event grossed about $44,000, before expenses. The proceeds will help benefit Mackinac Island Medical Center, Ste. Anne’s Catholic Church, Trinity Episcopal Church, Little Stone Church, and Mackinac Island Bible Church.
