Mackinac Island’s Lake Sweet was accepted into Albion College’s Honors Institute Tuesday, September 28. She is a freshman at Albion this year.

The Honors Institute is de-signed for students interested in challenges and opportunities beyond the traditional lecture and laboratory courses. Honors students are required to enroll in four “Great Issues” seminars in humanities, science, social science, and fine arts.

In addition to the seminars, Honors students must be graduated with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and produce an Honors thesis.

Ms. Sweet is a 2004 graduate of Mackinac Island Public School. She is the daughter of Laura Eiseler and Steve Sweet, both of Mackinac Island.
