Mary ‘Sally’ Edward

Mary V. “Sally” Edward, 80, of Brimley, passed away Monday morning, August 15, 2005 at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie.

Mrs. Edward was born on Mackinac Island May 17, 1925, the daughter of the late Ozro and Mary (Perrault) Smith. She was a Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Elder. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and making crafts for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed growing plants and flowers.

She is the widow of William H. Fallstich, who passed away in 1966. She later married Clair S. Edward December 10, 1967.

She is survived by her husband, Clair; three daughters and their families, Hazel Skelton of Sault Ste. Marie, Jean and George Cowell of Lake Mills, Wisconsin, and Julie Strader of Taylor; two sons and their families, William Fallstich of Watertown, Wisconsin, and Eric and Betty Fallstich of Crofton, Maryland; a daughter-in-law, Janis Fallstich of Wyandotte; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Nova Therrien of Sault Ste. Marie, Onalee Cable of Wyandotte, and Donna Weston of Raber; two brothers, Ray Smith of Garden City and Donald Smith of Sault Ste. Marie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, a grandson, J.C. Cowell, and a sister, June Brown.

Visitation was Wednesday, August 17, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home in Sault Ste. Marie. Services were held Thursday, August 18, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Raappana officiating.

Burial was at Pine Grove Cemetery.
