Williams Celebration Set for June 25 Mackinac Associates will host the annual G. Mennen Williams Celebration Saturday, June 25. The evening includes a cocktail reception, cottage tour, and dinner at Grand Hotel and pays tribute to former Michigan Governor Williams, who helped create Mackinac Island State Historic Parks museum programs, including exhibits and archeological research. Mr. Williams was governor from 1949 to 1960. This year, Mr. and Mrs. David Levy will host the reception at their East Bluff cottage. Tickets are $110 per person and must be purchased in advance by calling Diane Dombroski at (231) 436-4100. Mackinac Associates, a friends group for Mackinac State Historic Parks, raises money for park programs, especially educational outreach programs at schools around the state. Trustees include President Marta Olson, Vice-president Glen Young, Secretary-Treasurer Peter Marabell, Penny Barr, Ollie Boynton, Joe Brandonisio, Todd Harburn, Tracy Hardin, Tom Lockwood, Mary Maurer, and Lin Sheppard.
