Lightning Causes Power Outage

A brief power outtage occured on Mackinac Island Tuesday, June 21, when lightning struck a lightning arrestor. The lightning strike caused a reclosure in the switching station to open, which shut down the circuit to Harrisonville, Mission Point, and West Bluff at 7:40 a.m.

The arrestor was behind Harrisonville General Store. Edison Sault Electric Company had the power restored by 9:50 a.m.
