Taste of Mackinac Draws Several Hundred

Betty Lamp of Roger City knows that she will always have one vacation to Mackinac Island planned over the summer. “I come every year during Lilac Festival,” she said. “I never miss A Taste of Mackinac.” Here, she samples food prepared by Stonecliff Chef Calbert Roberts.

This year’s event was at Harbour View Inn and featured 15 entries from local businesses. Participants waited in a line that wrapped around the hotel’s lawn and up Church Street. Matt Harmon of Sugar Grove, Illinois, was especially pleased with the offerings by Stonecliff Inn. “I ate four servings of the pork!” he bragged to his parents.
