Tiffany Rausch Returns To Anne Cottage After Touring Europe

Tiffany Nicole Rausch, daughter of Debbie and Scott Rausch of Mackinac Island and Frankenmuth, returned July 4 to their family’s summer home, “Anne Cottage” after touring Austria and Germany with classmates for 10 days.

The 16-year-old is studying German at Frankenmuth High School.

The group toured 480-year-old salt mines at Filzmoos, the original Silent Night Chapel in Oborndorf, and ascended into the statuesque fortress at Liechtensteinklamm, used in the 1968 film “Where Eagles Dare,” starring Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. Students also visited Frankenmuth’s sister city Gunzenhausen, Dachau’s Holocaust Museum, the historic town of Rotlenburg, and Munich’s world-famous beer hall, Hofbrauhaus.

As part of their language studies, students also spent one evening with a German family who spoke no English.
