Teams Prepare for 2nd Island Trivia Contest

The Great Turtle Trivia Bowl returns to Mackinac again this year. The event, sponsored by Mackinac Associates, is a Jeopardy-style contest which pits eight, three-person teams against each other in the ultimate battle of Mackinac knowledge. The event will be held Thursday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m. at Mission Point Theater. The Trivia Bowl is open to the public, with donations accepted at the door.

Last year’s bowl ended in a showdown between Father Jim’s Babes and the Trinity Trio. The winning team of Mayor Margaret Doud, Valerie Porter, and Katie Cederholm will be returning to defend their title. Other teams are still forming. Questions for the event cover a broad range of topics, from history and geography to island personalities and landmarks.

To make sure the event moves along, comic Stu Stuart will emcee the event, and Mackinac State Historic Parks Director Phil Porter will act as the final judge in case of disputes.
