Mackinac Island State Park Commission To Meet

The Mackinac Island State Park Commission will meet on Friday, July 22 at 1:30 p.m. on Mackinac Island. The meeting will take place in the boardroom of the 1860 Post Hospital building located just east of Fort Mackinac.

The Mackinac Island State Park Commission consists of seven members appointed by the governor of Michigan and confirmed by the Michigan senate. Commissioners serve six-year terms. Dennis Cawthorne has served as chairman since 1991. Commissioners include Laurie Stupak, Richard Manoogian, Frank Kelley, Joan Porteous, Audrey Jaggi, and Karen Karam. The commission was formed in 1895 and is responsible for all aspects of managing Mackinac State Historic Parks.
