Clinic Planned To Educate Horse, Rider

Three Carol C. Ley lectures and riding clinics will be held this coming week, arranged by the Mackinac Horsemen’s Association .

The first will focus on body awareness and movement and will take place Monday, July 25, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Ann and David Levy cottage on the East Bluff. To reserve a seat, telephone Lin Sheppard at 847-3791 or Leanne Brodeur at 847-3853 or at 847-8191.

The second two clinics will be at Great Turtle Park Tuesday, July 26, and will focus on timing and making a horse more responsive. The clinic for young riders will be from 8 a.m. to noon and the clinic for adults will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Call Ms. Brodeur to reserve a time or sign up at Mission Hill Stable. Riders must wear helmets and sign a release form.

Those who do not have a horse are welcome to audit the riding portion of the clinic.
