Island Worker Plans Liberia Trip

Julie Hunt, a summer worker on Mackinac Island, is planning a Christian mission trip to Liberia. Ms. Hunt, who works for David and Susan Bankard on the West Bluff, will be stationed at the Camphor Mission to help set up the laboratory of the medical clinic.

Liberia is one of the poorer countries in the world and is recovering from nearly a decade of civil war. Health clinics in the country are run by missionary organizations such as the one Ms. Hunt plans to join. She will be leaving for Liberia in December and working there through January.
