Becky Warp Weds Jan van der Woered XIV

Becky Ann Warp and Jan van der Woerd XIV of Chicago, Illinois, were married Saturday, July 16, at the Lakeside Lawn at the Lodge in Oak Brook, Illinois, with Pastor Bert Dejong of Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Harold G. “Skip” Warp of Wood Dale, Illinois, and Mackinac Island and Jeanne Warp of Elmhurst, Illinois. She is a 2003 graduate of Calvin College and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education.

The groom is the son of Jan and Wilma van der Woerd XIII of St. Thomas, Ontario. He is a graduate of Calvin College and is a real estate appraiser in Downers Grove, Illinois.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white strapless A-line linen gown with lace-embroidered veil, and carried a bouquet of blue hydrangea with white freesia.

Melissa Warp, the bride’s sister-in-law of Elmhurst, Illinois, was the maid of honor and bridesmaids were Kristi Bouden of Downers Grove, Katharine Meyer of Downers Grove, Melissa Vander Kamp of Denver, Colorado, Rachel van der Woerd of St. Thomas, Aleida van der Woerd of St. Thomas, and Katelyn Nolan of Wonnetka.

The bridal party wore strapless tea-length sky blue dresses with a white ribbon.

Mark van der Woerd, the groom’s brother of St. Thomas, Ontario, was best man. Groomsmen included Chris Warp of Elmhurst, Illinois, Matthew Stolle of Chicago, Stephen Jarvis of Chicago, Daniel Van Prooyen of Villa Park, Illinois, Dave Van Noord of Boulder, Colorado, and Johan de Voete of Grand Rapids.

Flower girl was Meghan Nolan, cousin of the bride and a resident of Wonnetka.

A reception was held at the Hyatt Lodge, Hamburger University, in Oak Brook, Illinois.

A wedding trip to San Francisco’s wine country and redwood forests is planned.

The bride’s father, Skip Warp, and his wife, Mary, vacation at their West Bluff cottage, purchased by Harold Warp Sr. in 1950.
