Jack Spencer To Sign Books September 24

Writer and reporter Jack Spencer will sign his book, “Melvin Smallman: A Tale from the Forest Floor,” at The Island Bookstore Saturday, September 24.

Mr. Spencer is a reporter and analyst for Michigan Information Research Services, a publication covering Michigan state politics.

“Melvin Smallman” is a fantasy adventure of a brave mouse in Kalkaska County and his quest to help the creatures of the forest defeat an enemy invading from another region. The smallmen in the story are so elusive that many forest creatures believe their existence to be a myth.

The book, according to Mr. Spencer, should appeal to young and old readers.

The book signing will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
