Grant Applications Available

Mackinac Island Community Foundation is accepting fall grant applications until November 1 for grants that will be awarded in early December. Any nonprofit organization can apply for a grant from the foundation.

A grant writing workshop and open house has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 19, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mackinac Island Community Foundation office in the Twilight Inn on Hoban Street, across the from the Village Inn Restaurant. The evening provides an opportunity to receive grant writing advice and assistance, said Mrs. Bloswick.

The foundation provides grants from earned income on endowed funds. Many of the funds have been created by donors to support programs in specific areas of interest, such as health and human services, community arts, youth activities, the environment, conservation, historical writing and preservation, and horse tradition.
