Patricia Gallagher

Patricia Martha Gallagher, 69, of Mackinac Island, died Saturday, September 24, 2005 at Mackinac Straits Hospital Long Term Care in St. Ignace after a nine-year stay at the facility.

She was born on the Island January 23, 1936, to Jay and Bertha Green. Mrs. Gallagher lived on the Island her entire life.

She married Joseph Dale Gallagher on Mackinac Island in December 1954. Mrs. Gallagher worked in the kitchen for Grand Hotel, as a housekeeper for Murray Hotel, and for Mackinac Island Carriage Tours.

She was a member of Ste. Anne’s Catholic Church on Mackinac Island.

She is survived by her husband, Dale, one son and his family, Joseph and Paula Gallagher Jr. of Mackinac Island; her daughters and their families, Roberta and Charlie Louzon of St. Ignace, Sandra and Jim Roe of Mackinac Island, Margaret and Bo Herrala of St. Ignace; her mother, Bertha Green of Mackinac Island; her brothers, James Green of St. Ignace, Stanley Green of Mackinac Island, Bob Green of Ohio, Stephen Green of Detroit; her sisters, Kathleen Cowell of Detroit, Peggy Cowell of Mackinac Island, Judy Hespenhide of Florida, Stella Brown of Detroit, Lorna Livernois of Arizona; 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jay Green, in 1989, and a grandson, Mark Gallagher, in 2001.

A memorial mass will be held at Ste. Anne’s Catholic Church Friday, October 7, with Father Rey Garcia officiating.

Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace assisted the family with arrangements.
