Barbara Chambers

Barbara Chambers, 64, of Mackinac Island, died Friday, November 11, 2005 at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie.

She was born January 8, 1941, on Mackinac Island to Joseph and Ruby (nee Perault) Andress and lived on Mackinac Island all of her life. She married James P. Chambers in Sault Ste. Marie in 1974.

She is survived by her husband; six sons, Lyndon Ruddle of Moran, Michael Ruddle of Florida, Chad Ruddle of St. Ignace, James Chambers of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and John E. Chambers of Mackinac Island; three daughters, Carol Ruddle of Mackinac Island, Leslie Atkins of Sault Ste. Marie, and Heather Chambers of Mackinac Island; four brothers and their families, Don Andress of Mackinac Island, Carl and Cora Andress of St. Ignace, Pat Andress of St. Ignace, and Butch Andress of Cheboygan, and a sister, Mary Siders of St. Ignace. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren.

Mrs. Chambers was preceded in death by twins Emma and Ruby, who died at birth, and a brother, Joseph Andress.

Private graveside services were Tuesday, November 15, at Ste. Anne’s Cemetery on Mackinac Island with Father Rey Garcia officiating. At her request, cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.

Dodson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
