Musser III Elected to State Commerce Board Grand Hotel President Dan Musser III has been elected to the board of directors of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, where he will be involved in establishing chamber policy on economic, legislative, political, and social issues that affect Michigan’s business and economic climate. He serves a two-year term. Mr. Musser started working full time at Grand Hotel in 1986 and worked his way up through every department. He was named president in 1989. He is former chairman of the Michigan Hotel, Motel, and Resort Association and a member of the Resort Committee of the American Hotel and Motel Association. He was appointed to the Michigan Travel Commission in 1988 and was re-appointed by Governor John Engler in 1998. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College. He lives on Mackinac Island during the summer season and in Petoskey during the remainder of the year with his wife, Marlee, and family. The Michigan Chamber of Commerce was established in 1959 as an advocate for Michigan’s job providers in the legislative, political, and legal process.
