MICF Fall Grant Applications Are Due Nov. 1; Awarded Dec. 2

Mackinac Island Community Foundation is accepting fall grant applications until Wednesday, November 1, for grants to be awarded Saturday, December 2, at the Mackinac Island Christmas Bazaar.

Any nonprofit organization can apply for a grant from the foundation.

A grant writing workshop and open house will be Tuesday, October 10, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mackinac Island Community Foundation office in the Twilight Inn on Hoban Street, across the from the Village Inn Restaurant. The evening provides an opportunity to receive grant writing advice

and assistance, explained Jennifer Bloswick, executive director of the Community Foundation.

The Community Foundation provides grants from earned income on endowed funds, many of which have been created by donors to support programs in general areas of interest that include health and human services, community arts, youth, the environment, conservation, historical writing and preservation, and horses.
