28 Compete in Golf Scramble

Sheppard/Benke Team, Bunker/Rilenge Take Top Frost Bite Spots

Twenty-eight golfers competed in the Frost Bite Golf Scramble Tournament at Wawashkamo Golf Club Saturday, September 23.

The teams of Lin Sheppard and Kay Berke carded 86 to win the women's division and Lou Bunker and Steve Rilenge recorded 68 to capture the men's tournament.

Sue Chambers and Syndee Borst tallied 88 to finish second in the ladies class and in the men's division the team of Jeff Lynch and Ron Steensma took second with 69, Orv Reid and Todd Callewaert placed third with 69, Cub Horn and Brian Lents fourth finished fourth with 70, and Bob Andress and Rusty Preston fifth with 71.

Closest to the pin on number four was Jim Cook and on number eight was Syndee Borst. Closest to the pin with third shot on number five was the team of Bob Andress and Rusty Preston and on number nine the team of Kay Berke and Lin Sheppard. Jim Cook had longest putt on number nine, Lin Sheppard was closest to the pin on number 13, Lou Bunker was closest to the pin on number 17, and the team of Todd Callewaert and Orv Reid was closest to the pin with third shot on number 10.
