James Keogh

James Benjamin Keogh, veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II and of the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict, passed away Thursday, March 16, in Panama City, Florida.

Mr. Keogh grew up in Chicago and spent summers on Mackinac Island, where his brother and family, Lawrence and Nancy Keogh, still maintain a cottage on the East Bluff.

In addition to his brother, he is survived by two sons, James and Michael, a daughter, Katharine, three grandchildren, a sister and her family, Lura and the late Mort Altshuler, and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Keogh loved dogs, the water, and sailing, which led him to spend his retirement in Florida.

Graveside services were Saturday, March 25, at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Chicago.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to the American Humane Society.

Arrangements were made by Beverly Ridge Funeral Home in Chicago.
