Eric and Takako Cowell (left) and Laura and Reuben Cowell III were married in a double ceremony in Hawaii.

The beach in Maui, Hawaii, was the setting of a double wedding ceremony for Laura and Reuben Cowell III and Takako and Eric Cowell January 16, 2006.

Parents of the grooms are Kelly and Reuben Cowell Jr. of Roy, Washington. Grandparents of the grooms are Dianne Cowell of St. Ignace and the late Reuben Cowell.

Family and friends came from Japan, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Washington, and Alaska. The reception was at a local golf course, with many native flowers and birds.

Reuben and Laura Cowell will reside in Kihei on Maui.

Eric and Takako Cowell will be stationed in San Diego, California, as Mr. Cowell is following in his father's footsteps in the U.S. Navy.
