Bike Auction Planned for May 27

Mackinc Island's annual bicycle auction, conducted by Mackinac Island Police Department, will be held on the steps of Community Hall on Market Street at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27.

About 150 operating bicycles have been collected by the department, which have been either abandoned or impounded and never retrieved since the end of last summer.

There will be no minimum price.

For safety, the city will not auction any bicycle that is not functional. No bicycle parts will be auctioned, and all bicycles not auctioned will be disposed of.

Mike Carley will be the auctioneer.
