Incumbents retained their seats in city offices and on the school board as 29 percent of Mackinac Island registered voters cast ballots Tuesday, May 2.
All candidates ran unopposed except for one write-in candidate, who sought one of two seats on the city council, but lost by a wide margin.
Write-in candidate Andrew Dziobak received 32 votes, which could not match the 123 votes incumbent Frank Bloswick earned or the 130 votes garnered by Alderman Mike Hart. Mr. Dziobak, a Mackinac Island police officer, was the only challenger in the election.
Mayor Margaret Doud will continue as mayor for the 31st year, earning 148 votes. City incumbents Clerk Karen Lennard received 164 votes, Treasurer Richard Linn won 161 votes, Supervisor C. Ron Dufina earned 106 votes, and Assessor Robert Benser got 130 votes.
School Board trustee Sara Chambers earned 145 votes, retaining her seat.
Mackinac Island has 645 registered voters and 188 of them voted May 2.
