TAM Sessions Educate Servers on Alcohol Rules Restaurant servers and bartenders can attend a Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM) sessions to learn about the do's and don'ts of dispensing alcohol and managing customers Monday, June 26, at Mission Point Resort. Former Michigan Licensed Beverage Association president Missy Morrison will instruct two sessions, one at 10 a.m. and one at 5 p.m., and will be accompanied by state Liquor Control License Commissioner Jim Storey and Mackinac County District Court Judge Beth Ann Gibson. Mr. Storey and Island City Police Chief Bill Lenaghan will also meet with bar owners to discuss liquor control regulations. The program is provided by the Michigan Licensed Beverage Association and each session lasts for about three hours and teaches participants several informational tips, such as risks and possible penalties servers can face by serving alcohol to minors or to intoxicated persons, spotting a fraudulent identification card, or what to do in a hostile situation.
