Roger Grzymala

Roger Grzymala, 62, of Canton, worked as a skilled tradesman for 30 years and was known to friends as a "Mr. Fixit" who could repair anything. He was a regular visitor to Mackinac Island for years. Mr. Grzymala died in a traffic accident in Cheboygan County June 17, 2006, while traveling to Mackinac Island.

He was born October 7, 1943, in Detroit.

He married Stella Krzeminski October 22, 1966, in St. Kevins Church in Inkster.

Mr. Grzymala worked for General Motors Willow Run Powertrain as a skilled tradesman for 30 years. He lived in Canton for all of his married life, and was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and Local Union 723.

He particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.

Mr. Grzymala is survived by his wife, Stella, who was also involved in the June 17 accident and is a patient at Petoskey's Northern Michigan Hospital, two daughters and their families, Stephanie and Mark LeBeau of Brooklyn and Jennifer Grzymala of Canton, two brothers and their families, Ronald and Rita Grzymala of Land O'Lakes, Florida, and Robert and Mary Jane Grzymala of Sterling Heights, a stepbrother and his family, Jerome and Kathy Davis of Houghton Lake, two stepsisters and their families, Esther and Jim Jajuga of Rockwood and Geraldine Whaley of Luther, and three grandsons, Shane, Ashten, and Dakota. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Leo Krzeminski of Mackinac Island, a brother-in-law and cousin and his family, Reginald and Toni Rumpz, three sisters-in-law and their families, Julie and Larry Kwiatkowski, Gail Schmorberger, and Mary and Rick Stone, several nieces and nephews, and many friends, both in Canton and Mackinac Island.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Magdalene (nee Puczek) Grzymala, and his mother-inlaw, Ann Krzeminski, who died in February 2000.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace at a later date, with services and burial to take place on Mackinac Island.
