Windquest Breaks First-in Record in 82nd Port Huron Race

     A good mix of wind characterized the 82nd running of Bayview Yacht Club's Mackinac race last weekend, creating new records and many good stories. Some 234 boats started the race at Port Huron Saturday, and 213 finished at Mackinac Island.

Round II: Sailors Prepare for 92nd Chicago Yacht Race
     The Chicago Yacht Club's Race to Mackinac gets underway Saturday, July 22, with 305 boats registered to start. This will be the 98th race, a 333-nautical-mile reach up Lake Michigan that qualifies the Race to Mackinac as the longest fresh water sailing race in the world.

     A stroll down Main Street reveals dozens of shops selling mementos of Mackinac Island, from fudge to fine gifts to novelty hats. Souvenirs, in their infinite variety, are as numerous and diverse as the tourists who buy them.
