Kamphuis, Pettit Receive Scholarships

Standing with the Reverend Vincent Carroll are Sam Kamphuis (left) and Jason Pettit, who were awarded scholarships from Little Stone Church Sunday, July 2. Mr. Kamphuis will receive $5,000 for four years and Mr. Pettit will receive $2,500 for two years. Both will attend Grand Valley State University in the fall. Little Stone Church has awarded more than $150,000 to Mackinac Island Public School graduates in just over 10 years. The church received seven applications this year. "We had a really strong group and they were all really deserving. These two were exceptional," said Lisa Largo-Marsh, chairman of the Little Stone Church Scholarship Committee.
