Fort Michilimackinac To Host Marines Reenactors

Mackinac State Historic Parks will host the Michilimackinac Marines Encampment at Colonial Michilimackinac in Mackinaw City Saturday, August 5, and Sunday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Reenactors from throughout the Midwest will join the 18th-century British troops already stationed at the reconstructed fort to portray French and British colonialists from the French and Indian War period.

Reenactors at the fort's largest invitational encampment will supplement daily

programs with demonstrations, including military marching and drilling techniques, period clothing presentations, and equipment demonstrations.

Colonial Michilimackinac is a reconstructed French furtrading village and military outpost.

Attractions at the living history museum include onsite archaeology and interactive military and civilian life demonstrations from the British 1770s occupation and the American Revolution era.
