Reports from the Mackinac Island Police Department from July 1 to July 28:

Island Police are investigating two reports of criminal sexual conduct in the downtown area on Saturday, July 22, and Wednesday, July 26.

A 21-year-old St. Ignace man was arrested for possession of cocaine early Sunday morning, July 23. A traffic officer spotted a man with a two friends using a substance at a boat dock and informed police, who followed the three men into a downtown bar. The man was arrested after residue at the dock tested positive for cocaine. The other two men were not charged.

Awoman riding a horse was advised by police to stay off French Lane Tuesday, July 25, after she was spotted by another person, who informed police. No citation was given. French Lane is open to foot and bicycle traffic, however, the city passed an ordinance this summer banning horses because of traffic congestion.

Police issued a warning to a man and woman from Flushing to keep their dogs on a leash in the city after a Mackinac Island resident complained that the couple's unleashed dogs almost knocked him over on his bicycle while riding on the corner of Hoban Street and Market Street Sunday, July 23.

From July 1 to July 28, police recorded 220 complaints, which included 36 bicycle larcenies, two false alarms, and 12 citations for minors in possession.
