Melissa Riel of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly a summer resident of the West Bluff, and Shan Jaffar of Madras, India, are engaged to be married Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Ste. Anne's Church.

Mr. Jaffar is the son of M.A. Jaffar and Nashima Jaffar of Madras. He attended Andrews University in Berrien Springs for his undergraduate education and received his master's degree in medical visualization from Texas A & M University. He is employed at Blausen Medical in Houston, Texas, as a senior animator. The couple will reside in Fort Worth, Texas.
