Kiracofe Benefit Raises $6,500

A spaghetti dinner and silent auction to benefit Adam Kiracofe Monday, August 7, raised about $6,500. Auction items, ranging from handmade crafts to hotel accommodations and artwork, were donated by Island businesses. About 215 people attended.

Gordon Food Service donated food for the spaghetti dinner, and Mission Point Resort provided salad and dessert. The Chippewa Hotel provided chefs to help prepare dinner, and many volunteers helped serve and clean up. Brother Jim Boynton provided entertainment with his guitar and fiddle.

In Mackinac Island Yacht Club Bridge League games for the week ending Wednesday, August 9, Elaine Hansen placed first, Lois Largo placed second, and Audrey Gallery placed third.
