Weekend of Jazz Entertainers To Be Held at Grand Hotel

During the last holiday of the summer season, jazz will be celebrated at Grand Hotel's Labor Day Weekend Jazz Festival beginning Friday, September 1, and running through Sunday, September 4, featuring headline entertainers Arturo Sandoval, Kurt Elling, and Nnenna Freelon.

Also appearing in this year's festival will be singer Judy Roberts, pianists Bob Baldori and Bob Seeley, the Choir Academy of Chicago, and Grand Hotel's orchestra led by Alex Graham. Radio personality Paul Anthony will be the event's master of ceremonies.

The hotel's Gatehouse restaurant on Cadotte Avenue will serve as a venue for evening entertainment by the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

Grand Hotel's front lawn with its fountain and flower gardens is known as the Tea

Garden, where daytime concerts are scheduled, which begin at 12 p.m. Public tickets are $65 per person for each day and include a buffet luncheon.

Evening concerts will be in the hotel's Theatre, Jockey Club, and Cupola Bar and are free, but the hotel's dress code of coat and tie for men will be enforced.
