Dolores and John Pinter of Dearborn, former summer residents of Mackinac Island, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Grand Hotel Friday, August 11 .

The couple was married in 1956 in Munising. Mr. Pinter has visited the Island since he was a child, while Mrs. Pinter first visited here on her high school senior class trip in 1946.

During their eight summers on Mackinac, Mr. Pinter volunteered at Ste. Anne's Church, Fort Mackinac gift shop, and as a docent at the Governor's summer residence. The Pinters are members of Mackinac Associates.

After a brief stay on the Island last week, they traveled to Italy for a short vacation.

Mr. Pinter will continue his involvement in the Senior Scholarship program at the University of Michigan Dearborn when he returns.
