Wawashkamo Tournament Scores

Fifty players participated in the Wawashkamo members mixed scramble Wednesday, August 9, 2006, which was followed by a cookout. A threeway tie with scores of 31 was settled by a chip-off, with the team of Mike Compton, Les Parrish, Janet Stingel, and Mary Dufina taking first, followed by Randy Stuck, Billy Borst, Patti Ann Moskwa, and Nancy Keogh in second, and Todd Callewaert, Cub Horn, and Sue Chambers in third. Fourth place was taken by the team of Dave Sheppard, Jack Dehring, Sandra Orr, and Pam Natter, with a score of 32. They won a chip-off against John Manikoff, Bill Chambers, Kay Berke, and Jennifer Bloswick. Winner bucks were taken by the team of Ron Steensma, Larry Keogh, Ann Parish, and Sheli Casey.

Eighteen teams, 10 in the men's division and eight in the women's, participated in the first Member-Member Tournament at Wawashkamo Golf Links Saturday, July 22. Teams played a 6-6-6 format with the first six holes counting the best ball of the two-person team, the second six holes as alternate shot, and the third six holes a scramble.

In the women's division, Sandra and Debra Orr took first with a score of 65.4, Lin Sheppard and Michelle Stuck came in second with 66.4, Jennifer Bloswick and Brenda Bunker were third with 67.2, Rena Callewaert was closest to the pin on hole eight, Lin Sheppard and Michelle Stuck were closest to the pin in two shots on hole 12, Debra and Sandra Orr were closest to the pin in three shots on hole 14, and Trisha Bunker made the longest put on hole 18.

In the men's division, Ron Dufina and Rusty Preston took first with a score of 62.4, Larry Berke and Cub Horn were second with 62.7, Doug Rearick and Randy Stuck were third with 66.4, Cub Horn was closest to the pin on hole four, David Levy and Todd Callewaert were closest to the pin in two shots on hole 12, and Michael Pope and Don Widosh were closest to the pin in three shots on hole 14.
