9/11 Memorial Service To Be Held at Marina The public is welcome to attend a memorial service for September 11, 2001, terrorist victims at 6 p.m. Monday, September 11, in front of the Mackinac Island Marina. The city's firefighters and police officers, as well as members of Allied EMS, past and present, will be on hand. Mackinac Island Mayor Margaret Doud, Fire Chief Dennis Bradley, Police Chief Bill Lenaghan, American Legion Post 299 Commander Paul Wandrie, and Mackinac Island Bible Church Pastor Ken Straight will be among the speakers at the service. Refreshments will be offered at the fire hall on Market Street following the ceremony. |
