Starbucks Business May Decrease Property Value
To the Editor:

I am very disappointed that a Starbucks was approved by the city council! I truly believe you have decreased our property values by allowing a worldwide chain to invade our tranquil little island.

How can you expect to transport people back in time when they step off the boat and are struck in the face by a

national conglomerate? What's next, a McDonald's with drive through carriage service?

Editor's Note: Council has no ordinance prohibiting franchises on Mackinac Island. Pizza Hut, Tastee Freeze, and A&W Root Beer have had operations on Mackinac Island in the past.
