Dr. Lucian Vlad To Serve as Resident Physician

Dr. Lucian Vlad Dr. Lucian Vlad Dr. Lucian Vlad arrived as resident physician at the Mackinac Island Medical Center Sunday, August 12, and will conclude his stay Suday, August 26.

Dr. Vlad completed medical school in Romania before coming over to the United States for specialty training. He currently has less than a year to go on a residency in Grand Rapids. He is originally from Sibiu, Romania.

Following his residency, Dr. Vlad wants to stay in the States for a few years and then move back to Romania, where he wants to open his own practice.

"I heard about the rotation here on Mackinac Island and how nice the Island is," he said. "It's actually more than I expected. I just think that this Island is great."

He hopes to practice his diagnostic skills while here.

"The purpose of the rotation here on the Island is to get more into making diagnosis based on physical exam," he said.

Dr. Vlad is accompanied by his wife and two children.
