Mackinac Island School Hosts Dinner for Senior Class Trip

A spaghetti dinner to raise funds for the senior trip of the 2008 Mackinac Island Public School graduating class will be Wednesday, October 10. Titled the "Poor Man's Ball," although no dancing is planned, the dinner will begin at the school at 5:30 p.m.

A $25 ticket includes dinner for two and a prize. Single tickets without a prize are $8 each, and children's tickets are $4. Prizes donated by Island businesses range from T-shirts to a 40-ride boat pass.

"It is a fun way to raise money for the senior class," said teacher Liz Burt, the class advisor.

The destination of the spring senior trip has not been decided yet, said Mrs. Burt. The trip requires approval by the board of education.

Tickets can be purchased from any of the six graduating seniors: Karlena Mosley, Woody Beardsley, Caleb Strait, Riley Chaffee, Kyle Sweet, and Sara Cowell.
