'Dirty Jobs' Show May Film on Island, Mackinac Bridge The Discovery Channel's hit series, "Dirty Jobs," with funnyman and brave host Michael Rowe, may be visiting Mackinac Island and the Mackinac Bridge in May. The show travels the earth seeking and showcasing dirty, smelly, disgusting, and daring jobs, and Mr. Rowe works with on-site experts to give viewers an educational and light-hearted look at jobs most people would turn away from. The show is expressing interest in traveling to Mackinac Island and the Straits area in May to showcase planting geraniums, monitoring the Island's landfill with environmental specialists, and cleaning the Mackinac Bridge. Mary Slevin, director of the Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau, has been pitching the idea to the show's representatives, however, Nikki Warren, a representative of Discovery Channel, told Mackinac Island Town Crier that shooting on the Island is tentative at this point and locations often change weekly. |
