Allan Schmidt

Gladstone resident Allan Richard Schmidt, who worked on Mackinac Island for 30 years, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2007, at Marquette General Hospital. He was 53.

Mr. Schmidt was born October 7, 1953 in Escanaba. He was a certified Schwinn bicycle mechanic on the Island and was also an employee of Doud Mercantile Company.

He is survived by his mother, Helen Hoft of Gladstone, two brothers and their families, Douglas and Dawn of Rapid River and Bruce of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and a sister, Carol Schmidt of Ishpeming.

He was preceded in death by his father, Martin, and brother, Donald.

A private memorial service for Mackinac Island friends will be held at a future date, with information available from Ben Horn of Mackinac Island at 847-0213.

Arrangements were made by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
