Historic Lenox Hotel To Get New Roof, Dormers
The 120-year-old Lenox Hotel will have a new roof and dormers in three weeks, says Mike Gamble (left) owner of M.P. Gamble Construction of Mackinac Island. Mike and Dennis Gamble began removing old shingles Monday, May 7. The Lenox was one of the historic buildings used when Mackinac was granted National Historic Landmark status. The structure is owned by Mackinac Island Carriage Tours, which uses it for offices and lodging for some of its employees.
