City Council Appointments Announced

At a May 14 meeting of the Mackinac Island City Council, Mayor Margaret Doud made the following appointments:

Returning as Mayor Pro Tempore is Armand "Smi" Horn.

Public Safety Committee: Armand Horn, Jason St. Onge, and Armin Porter.

Ordinance and Licenses Committee: Mike Hart, Dan Wightman, and Armand Horn.

Finance, Claims, Taxes, and Insurance Committee: Mike Hart, Jason St. Onge, and Armand Horn.

Airport and Transportation Committee: Dan Wightman, Frank Bloswick Jr., and Armin Porter.

Medical, Fly Control, and Public Health Committee: Dan Wightman, Mike Hart, and Armin Porter.

Lighting, Public Grounds, and Buildings Committee: Armand Horn, Dan Wightman, and Frank Bloswick Jr.

New City, Fire Hall, and Housing Committee: Frank Bloswick Jr., Jason St. Onge, and Armand Horn.

Streets and Sidewalks Committee: Armand Horn, Jason St. Onge, and Armin Porter.

Compost and Solid Waste Committee: Frank Bloswick Jr., Dan Wightman, and Armin Porter.

Chamber of Commerce, Island Activities, Lilac Day, and Fourth of July: Armin Porter, Dan Wightman, and Frank Bloswick Jr.

City Administration: Calvin Horn, city foreman; Kelly Bean, mayor's assistant; William Lenaghan, city Marshall; Tom Evashevski, city attorney; Dennis Dombroski, Building Inspector and Zoning Administrator.

Fire Department: Dennis Bradley, chief; Mike Bradley, assistant chief; Dan Wightman, captain; and Armin Porter, lieutenant.

Cemetery Board: Candace Smith for five years, Dale Gallagher for four years, Armand Horn for three years, Kathi Wightman for two years, and Clayton Timmons for one year.

Board of Public Works: F. Thomas Lewand for five years, James Pettit for four years, C. Ronald Dufina for three years, Andrew Doud for two years, and Victor Callewaert for one year.

Planning Commission: Lee Finkel and Patricia Martin for three years, Kathleen Hoppenrath, Mary McCourt Dufina and Robert Brown for two years, and Margaret Horn, Jim Pettit, and Bruce Lapine for one year.

Librarian: Anne St. Onge. Library Board: Kathi Wightman for five years, Kathleen Hoppenrath for four years, Amelia Musser for three years, Clayton Timmons for two years, and Margaret McIntire for one year.

Construction Board of Appeals: James Granger, Gary Urman, and Dean Baker for one year.

Traffic Control Advisory Panel: Armand Horn for five years, Frank Bloswick Jr. for four years, Robert Brown for three years, Bill Chambers for two years, and Jason St. Onge for one year.

Board of Recreation: Mike Hart and Barb Fisher for three years, Armand Horn and Paul Wandrie for two years, and Mike Gamble for one year.

Mayor's Advisory Committee: Jodi Chambers, Betty Bedour, Tim Leeper, Clayton Timmons, Franc Doud, Dennis Bradley, Ben Mosley, Lorna Straus, Kathi Wightman, and Rosemary Lounsbury.

Mackinac Island Building Authority: Secretary Bruce Zimmerman for one year, Treasurer Dennis Bradley Sr. for three years, and Chairman Tom Evashevski.
