Goodfellows Golfers Take First Place

The Goodfellows golf team took first place in the Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau spring golf outing, Tuesday, May 29. The team of Jeoff Lynch, Ron Steesma, Mark Buchanon, and Mike Compton came in at 12 strokes under a par, shooting 48 of 60.

Coming in second at the Wawashkamo course was the Wawashkamo team of Doug Rearick, Rusty Preston, Ron Dufina, and Fritz George. The team shot three over par at 63.

In third place was Mackinac Island Carriage Tours and Island House Team of David Levy, Todd Callewaert, Brad Chambers, and Jeff Struman with a score of 65.

Games on the course were won by Vicki Karcmarik, who was closest to the pin at the 4th hole. Doug Rearick was the closest to the pin on the 17th hole. Sean Preston had the longest drive on the fifth hole and Sandra Orr had the longest drive on the 10th hole.

Forty golfers participated in the tournament. Acookout sponsored by The Island House followed the event.
