First Mixed Couples Golf Match Held June 13

Wawashkamo Golf Course held the first mixed couples tournament of the season Wednesday, June 13, with 44 golfers participating.

In first place with a score of 30 was the team of Jonnie Chappie, Larry Berke, Lin Sheppard, and Janice Preston. They each were given $50 in Wawa bucks.

Second place was a threeway tie with a score of 33. A chip-off was held to determine second and third place. Second place winners were David Sheppard, Bill Borst, Sandra Orr, and Mary Jane Barnwell. They received $35 in Wawa bucks.

Third place went to the team of Lou Bunker, Larry Keogh, Michelle Stuck, and Mary Hansen. They each were given $25 in Wawa bucks.

Whiner bucks of $10 each were won by Cub Horn, Tony Spata, Carole Erbel, and Marie Steensma.

Golf balls were the prize for those closest to the pin. On the fourth hole, the winner was Lou Bunker in the men's division and on the eighth hole Debra Orr in the women's division.

Closest to the pin on the fifth hole in three shots was the team of Justin Lents, Sean O'Dell, Janet Stingel, and Kay Berke.

Sue Chambers won the longest putt on the ninth hole.
