Local Women Place in Lilac 10k; Susan Horn Takes First

The Mackinac Island Lilac Festival 10K Walk took place on the Island Saturday, June 9. Local residents placing in their respective age groups included Susan Horn of St. Ignace, who was the Female Masters Division winner with a time of 1:08:44, just nine seconds behind the female overall winner. Mary Patay of Mackinac Island placed third in the 35 to 39 age group, with a time of 1:26:42. Karen Busch of Cheboygan placed fourth in the 50 to 54 age group, with a time of 1:31:40. Patricia Hubbard of Cheboygan took first place in the 70 to 74 age group with a time of 1:31:40. Margaret Sweeney of St. Ignace placed second in the 75 to 99 category, with a time of 1:58:13.
