Jim Lenfestey Offers Insight Into Poetry of Rumi July 18 Poet and island summer resident Jim Lenfestey will discuss the poetry of Rumi Wednesday, July 18, from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in the Audubon Bar at Grand Hotel. The class is free and the public is invited to attend. No background in poetry is required, and all necessary materials are available as handouts. By discussing the background of Rumi and reading a selection of his short poems in English, the class will discuss how a 13th century Sufimystic from a small religious commune in Turkey has become the most popular poet in the English-speaking world today. |
