Tango Folias To Perform at Ste. Anne's July 15

Tango Folias will perform Sunday, July 15, at 2 p.m. at Ste. Anne's Church as part of the Summer Concert Series sponsored by the Mackinac Island Community Foundation.

The four-member group will be playing tangos, which is a mixture of Latin, European, and African music.

On guitar and vocals is Dean Windemuller, a free-lance musician from Grand Rapids. He is trained in classical, jazz, finger style blues, and tango.

Violinist Deborah Crosser, also from Grand Rapids, teaches Suzuki violin for the Grand Rapids Community College Arts Outreach Program.

Andrew Bergeron has performed guitar tango music for dancers since 2003. Now living in Grand Rapids, he teaches tango at Grand Rapids Tango Community, which he cofounded in 2005 with his wife, Carmen Maret.

Ms. Maret will be playing flute, alto flute, and piccolo at Sunday's concert. She also teaches at Grand Rapids Tango Community.
