'Dirty Jobs' To Air August 7

Mike Rowe of Discovery Channel's "Dirty Jobs" series stops beneath the north tower of the Mackinac Bridge May 24, before filming "Bridge Painter" with the bridge maintenance crew. The show is scheduled to air Tuesday, August 7, at 9 p.m. and showcase the work of the Mackinac Bridge maintenance crew. Mr. Rowe worked with the crew in late May painting cables, removing rust from inside a tower base, and climbing the main cable to change a decorative light bulb. "Dirty Jobs," which often features three segments per episode, devotes an entire hour to the bridge. The show also filmed on Mackinac Island, as Mr. Rowe cleaned Island streets and drove a horse-drawn slop wagon. The Island segment is scheduled to air in September, although a date has not been set.
