Manitoulin Race Is Underway, 25 Boats Participate

Twenty-five boats got underway Thursday, July 26, for the fourth annual Mackinac-to-Manitoulin yacht race.

The race course consists of two legs, the first an overnight passage that ends in Gore Bay near Manitoulin Island, Ontario; the second leaves Gore Bay and ends Saturday, July 28, in Little Current, Ontario.

The race has grown over the years, with sailors from the United States and Canada. There are 25 boats registered this year.
